WE DECIDED TO TAKE OUT ALL THE DIANTHUS IN SPRING 2009 AND INSTEAD PUT IN DUSTY MILLERS AND RED GERANIUMS. THEY LAST ALL SEASON LONG INSTEAD OF JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS LIKE THE DIANTHUS DID.

WE DECORATED OUR LIGHTHOUSE FOR 'CHRISTMAS IN JULY' IN OUR PARK. (7-25-09)

The following collection of pics are all taken in and around our home in Cape Vincent, NY. We live in the 1000 Islands area and enjoy watching the ships navigate the St. Lawrence River along the seaway in front of our home.

TIBBETTS POINT LIGHTHOUSE

From top down: Our home at Maloney's Mobile Home Park. View of the St. Lawrence River from the back of our house; The 9 ft. replica of Tibbets Point Lighthouse that Dick made in 2003; Our yard is really green this year.....so far; Our fireplace grill for campfires; Our Dianthus around the lighthouse, are all starting to bloom again this year; The gold finches love to visit our feeder in early spring. Our pair of orioles are back every year and use their feeder quite regularly:)

My antique barrel with marigolds and our beautiful lilac bushes. Our daughter Karen and her hubby, Steve have the place next door to us. They come up to the 1000 Islands as often as they can. The dianthus are pretty every year, but only last for a couple of weeks:(

Our snowball bush 'melted' all over the ground, looking like we had a snowstorm in June. LOL

Our Maple Tree, MOLLY, is doing really good....yup, we named our tree. LOL

TWO OF OUR HUMMING BIRDS WERE HAVING A FIGHT....THEY'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PICTURE! ACTUALLY IT LOOKS LIKE THEY'RE DOING A BALANCING ACT WITH THE UTILITY POLE IN THE BACKGROUND. LOL

From the top down:Cape Vincent Pilot Boat going out to meet an ocean ship (salty); Cape Vincent Ferry Boat and a laker; A 'salty'; A laker; A salty and pleasure boat; Sometimes the waters are very calm and sometimes very rough; We see large yachts and smaller pleasure boats......this is Kris, Derek, Shelley & Kyle in their boat; Jane & Dick at Maloneys beach on a very windy day; A 'salty' and a 'laker' passing by Boldt Castle in Alexandria Bay! Canadian Coast Guard boat! A very large tour boat from the Bahamas! Two lakers heading down river; U.S. Coast Guard boat docked at Clayton; Clayton's Fireboat; A laker from the Canada Steamship Lines! A Canadian Warship!

WE GET SOME GORGEOUS SUNSETS ALONG THE RIVER!
